OVER 15 YEARS EXPERIENCE

Hi, I’m Rachel Keith,

a Licensed Veterinary Technician with over 15 years of experience caring for pets and supporting families through every stage of their animals’ lives.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with pets by supporting them through chronic illnesses, post-surgical recovery, senior needs, and providing compassionate support during difficult times. I understand that every pet is unique.

I founded Home & Heart Pet Care, LLC to bridge the gap between Veterinary care and home care, providing the skilled nursing support pets need at home while working alongside their Veterinarian’s treatment plan.

Whether your pet needs medication administration, mobility assistance, subcutaneous fluids, post-operative nursing care, transportation to veterinary appointments, or simply compassionate support, my goal is to treat every patient as if they were my own.

I look forward to meeting you and your beloved companion and providing the experienced, trustworthy, and heartfelt care they deserve.

FAQs

Can you prescribe medication for my pet?

No. Your Veterinarian is the prescriber of medications. We are the team that can help you with the treatment or administration of those medications.

Why choose in-home Veterinary Nursing instead of boarding or pet sitting?

In- home veterinary nursing is ideal for pets who need more than routine pet sitting but don’t require hospitalization. Caring for your companion in the comfort of home helps reduce stress while allowing them to stay in a familiar environment. As a licensed veterinary technician, I provide skilled nursing care that supports your veterinarian’s treatment plan and gives you peace of mind.

Do I need to be home for you to care for my pet?

Not necessarily. Some clients choose to be home during visits, but it’s not required. As long as we have safe access to your home and have discussed your pet’s care plan in advance, I can provide care while you’re away. My goal is to make receiving quality nursing care as convenient and stress-free as possible for both you and your companion.

Can you care for multiple pets during one visit?

Yes! We can care for multiple pets during the same visit whenever appropriate. Whether each companion needs nursing care or you have additional pets that need basic care while we are there, we’ll discuss your family’s needs and create a visit plan that’s best for everyone.

Can you diagnose my pet?

No. As a licensed veterinary technician, I cannot diagnose medical conditions, prescribe medications, or determine treatment plans. Those decisions are made by your Veterinarian. My role is to provide skilled veterinary nursing care, monitor your pet’s condition, and communicate any concerns or changes to you and your Veterinarian so your pet receives the best possible care.
